What is MediaInfo?

MediaInfo supplies technical and tag information about a video or audio file.

What information can I get from MediaInfo?

  • General: title, author, director, album, track number, date, duration...
  • Video: codec, aspect, fps, bitrate...
  • Audio: codec, sample rate, channels, language, bitrate...
  • Text: language of subtitle
  • Chapters: number of chapters, list of chapters

What format (container) does MediaInfo support?

  • Video: MKV, OGM, AVI, DivX, WMV, QuickTime, Real, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DVD (VOB)...
    (Codecs: DivX, XviD, MSMPEG4, ASP, H.264, AVC...)
  • Audio: OGG, MP3, WAV, RA, AC3, DTS, AAC, M4A, AU, AIFF...
  • Subtitles: SRT, SSA, ASS, SAMI...

Wowza Pro 1.5.0 Preview1 is the initial release of Wowza Pro with the following key additions (among others):

  • Added support for playback of H.264/AAC media files (.f4v, .mp4, .m4a, .mov, .mp4v, .3gp, and .3g2)
  • Added bi-directional support for Action Message Format 3 (AMF3)
Open issues
  • H.264/AAC live streaming is not supported in this Preview1. At this time there are no live H.264 encoders that support RTMP.
  • Fast forward, fast rewind and slow motion playback of H.264/AAC media files is not supported. We are still determining if these features will be possible with H.264/AAC content.

The Adobe Media Widget is an embeddable media player created in Adobe Flex, that allows you to embed any of the supported media types into a web page. This project includes 2 Flex applications:

  • AdobeMediaWidget.mxml - a wrapper for the MediaWidget component. It gives the widget access to incoming FlashVars needed for loading content from HTML.
  • WidgetConfigurator.mxml - a sample application that allows you to load and test content. It produces simple embed code you can use to quickly embed instances of AdobeMediaWidget.
